Nicole Richardson is running for reelection to the Penn Hills School Board.

She is a wife and mother of 5, her 4 school age children attend school in the district. She has children in each school building and they are thriving! She has worked as an educator for the last 10 years as a teacher and administrator. 

She initially ran 4 years ago because she was genuinely concerned about the direction of the school district financially. As a parent she wanted to bring a different perspective. After getting elected and working to understand where the district stood she attended every meeting, and attended every training session with the Pennsylvania School Board Association to understand the role of a school board director so she could bring effective change.

Since her time on the board she contributed to many of our current successes. As a curriculum committee member she has worked to ensure they took a strong look at the current curriculum and made changes with adding new evidence based programming in reading and math at the elementary level. She looked at course offerings in the high school and added new courses in English and Social Studies to engage learners. 

She worked hard to bring the Nursing program into the middle school and will be expanding the program into the high school. 

She brought in the partnership with the Cultural Trust to bring Disney plays to the elementary school to add to fine arts offerings. 

She supported additional professional development for our teachers where they feel they need it most.
